Set between two sections of overflowing PAT V's to Egypt and Isreal, the Greek Cruise tour of about 60 travelers started in Athens and then cruised to Turkey and the Greek Islands aboard the Stella Solaris. This trip is remembered most significantly for the opportunity for clearing that arose towards the end of the journey, when about half of the group wound up hospitalized or ill with salmonella poisoning. John and some of the staff went on to Egypt to start the second PAT section while others stayed behind in Greece to assist the travelers remaining to return to the US or become well enough to join the PAT V.
For those coming from the US this is the departure day for Europe. Flying on TWA the group covenes in New York for their flight to Athens.
The group arrives from the US and Israel in Athens and transfers to the Stella Solaris Greek Cruise Ship at Pireaus Port.
