From 1984 to 1995, John-Roger directed 9 remarkable month-long journeys through Egypt and Israel with groups of 150 people. These trips, called PAT IV and PAT V (Peace Awareness Training), were dream-come-true sojourns for many. Each year's itinerary was slightly different but all included PAT IV processes, numerous Traveler sharing and the opportunity to be on the bus at 8:07.

Visits today to Masada, the Dead Sea and Qu'm Ran and the PAT IV sandal shop. Here's where Michael arranged for "footwear" for us to walk through Hezekiah's Tunnel later this trip.
from diary: the PAT IV sandle stop. Michael and Benji left the three buses around the corner and went off to bargain with the shoe store on prices. After they'd agreed on a price in dollars and shekels, they "released" us. The hoards desended. In 23-minutes we got off the buses, bought shoes (womens $3/5s, mens $5/7s), bought water and popsicles and returned to the buses. One guy came riding down on his bicycle with about a dozen bottles of water to sell.

People were picnicing on the median of the road into town and upon arrival, the hotel's casino was in full swing.
